The most common and unique experience, being an immigrant

Masochist is a deeply personal exploration of the immigrant experience, captured through the lens of visiting your ethnic homeland while grappling with the emotional complexity of having grown up elsewhere.

The film traces a journey that oscillates between joy and melancholy, as the videographer (played by the filmmaker herself) returns to India—her home country—alone and as an adult for the first time, after immigrating to a new home as a child. The film captures the heart-wrenching realization that no matter where you are, a piece of "home" is always missing.

Masochist is a moving meditation on identity, belonging, and the eternal pull between two worlds.
